Throughout the book of 1 Corinthians Paul stresses the importance of unity in the church. We, the church, have an important mission to accomplish. When we are divided that mission is compromised. The sin of individuals never stays individual, it’s effects the whole body. Sin is always communal. Therefore we must address the sin, the division, and the issues the church is facing with urgency. So that the work of the church can be done. While that might seem like a daunting task. Paul makes it clear that we can do this, because Jesus is the one that’s doing the work in us.
